Yet it is a mere 25 minutes to San Isidro’s bustling center with all services and amenities (schools, stores, farmers market, restaurants, banks, hospital, movie theater, airport…) and 45 minutes to surfers’ paradise Dominical and Pacific beaches.

The nearest village Roble (bus, store, school) is one mile away, by the river Pacuar, great for swimming, rafting, kayaking, fishing. The access from the village to the property is by 4WD. The surrounding area has many scenic trails for horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking.

The property elevation is 3,000 feet, below cloud levels. There is always plenty of sunshine, humidity is lower, and temperatures are comfortable all year. The house sits on a promontory so the mountain breezes and the elevation assure its inhabitants a constantly pleasant climate.

The house is built of high quality materials and designs appropriate for tropical weather and earthquakes common in CR: steel frame on concrete pillars, fibrocement siding, tempered glass on all windows, industrial strength roofing etc. It is 3,100 sq. ft. in size, plantation style on two levels, airy and bright with cross ventilation and high ceilings. All floors are made of tropical hardwood.

The downstairs contains a master bedroom (with walk in closet and en suite bathroom), country kitchen, living and dining area, and laundry/powder room.

Upstairs has two large bedrooms, another living/dining room, space for optional bathroom (roughed-in) and balcony. There is a spacious wrap around porch on each floor to enjoy views of ever changing skies, sunrise, huge rainbows, green mountains, flocks of birds, fireflies, twinkling stars, and the Talamanca mountain range, frequently with clouds and mists draped and moving about the upper ridge off in the distance.

The plantation consists of around 600 cedar, eucalyptus, melina, cristobal, amarillon and roble trees, planted during the past decade as a long term investment in tropical lumber, and to revitalize former cattle pastures. Countless tropical fruit trees (oranges, lemons, bananas, mangos, star fruit, guanabana, papaya…), 130 coffee bushes, medicinal and ornamental plants were also planted throughout, and the property is now rich in wildlife – butterflies, birds (tanagers, hawks, toucans, parrots, hummingbirds…).

There are two year-round cascading creeks and one water spring on lower parts of the property.
Utilities: gravity fed water from community creek up the mountain (or pumped up from own spring), electricity (solar or wind power system is viable option), Wi Fi Internet, good cell phone signal.

The land is rolling and is largely usable along with areas of jungle, pasture and the omnipresent view. There is so much land with this property that it would be difficult to enumerate the various possibilities for use: farming, additional reforestation, small community, rental villas, retreat.
